Sunday, April 29th, members from all generations of the Black Watch Regimental family were present at the Verdun Legion in Montreal to honour those who took part in the WW1 battle at Ypres. The district of Verdun has a special place in the history of the Black Watch as so many of our soldiers and their families prior to both world wars, and even today, call this district home.
The Pipes & Drums continued their long-standing tradition of leading this parade for the 88th consecutive year. Along with the twenty members in the band were over thirty members from the Regimental Family present for this event. Individuals representing all three generations of the Black Watch proudly marched up to the cenotaph to lay the wreath on behalf of the Regiment. Representing the veterans was the President of the Association, Gord Ritchie; the active serving members by the RSM - CWO John Barron; and representing the future, was Sgt Cameron MacFarlane of the Cadet Corps.
